Director/Producer - Ms. Elsia Ferguson, B.A., M.A., M.B.E.
For more than 30 years Elsia has worked with choirs and youth groups in Grenada. She is a founding member of Spice Island Youthquake and directed it from the begining.
At times she is mother and spiritual guide to the members, as well as producer. Her dedication and hard work have brought SIY to its present standard.
Elsia is presently employed as a Lecturer/Counsellor at the T.A. marryshow Community College.
She obtained a Bachelors Degree in Language & Literature from the University of the West Indies in 1986, and joined the staff of what was then Grenada Teachers College.
In 1991 she attended the University of Reading where she was awarded a Masters in Counselling. In 1995 she was awarded M.B.E. for her contribution to youth and culture.

Tour Manager - Father Oliver Leavy
Father Oliver Leavy is a Kiltegan prist from Kinnegad, Ireland. He is a member of the St. Patrick’s Missionary Society. He worked in Grenada for 20 years (1976-1996). It was during this period as Parish Priest for Gouyave, St. John’s that Spice Island Youthquake was formed.
He was the group’s first tour manager and served in that capacity for the 1998 tour of England, Scotland and Ireland. After leaving Grenada he returned to Ireland where he served as Director of Promotion for St. Patrick’s Missionary Society in Ireland. He is now working in Nigeria.
This warm and energetic Irishman has always believed in and supported youth and culture, and in particular, Spice Island Youthquake.

Mr. Ian R. Marryshow
This expert musician (guitarist and singer) has been a pillar of Youthquake’s institution from its foundation in 1980. He served as manager for the 1988 tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Though he has been away from Grenada several times, he has made a notable contribution to Youthquake’s fame.

Public Relations/Technician - Mr. Kevin Williams, B.A., M.A., Diploma in Publishing
Kevin Williams is one of the group’s original members. He changed roles from performer to technician, which became a vital role to ensure Spice Island Youthquake’s continued success.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication,Hons., Masters of Arts in Graphic Arts and Design and a Post Graduate Diploma in Publishing.

General Secretary - Ms. Wendy Tamar
Wendy Tamar has been with the group since 1988. She is presently employed at Trans-Nemwil Insurance (Grenada) Ltd.
She is a hard-working secretary and a dependable contralto singer who handles a great deal of the group’s logistics.

Musical Assistant - Ms. Lauren Ramdhanny A.R.C/M., A.T.C.L., M.B.E.
Lauren is well-known in Grenada and in the other Caribbean islands for her contribution to music and culture.
She was trained in London for four years and on her return she was employed by the Ministry of Education and later the Ministry of Culture.
In 1985 Lauren received the M.B.E. Award for her contribution to culture in Grenada.
She has since retired from the Public Service but continues to give valuable service to various groups
